Today, when the realities of life pose complex questions and no less difficult tasks for each person, successful experience of our work can be useful to many. And not only to leaders of public organizations and charitable foundations, but also to every concerned citizen, who is aware of their own responsibility for our common future. After all, charity, which is inherent in universal culture since ancient times, is one of the manifestations of humanity and in our time does not lose relevance.
Scientists in their research note, that the latest forms and models of charity are formed on the basis of national traditions. Thus, Ukraine as a polyethnic state has a large field for research and the opportunity to use the best practices of different national communities.. Jewish communities in Ukraine have a rich history of effective philanthropy, after all, charity itself was the basis of the existence of these communities. Therefore it is possible to tell, that our organization has a rich historical experience, constant opportunity of age traditions and creative enthusiasm of each of employees.
For years of fruitful work, and the Foundation was established in 1999 year, we have become a powerful professional organization, which at the regional level helps the state in solving many not only socio-economic problems, but also in matters of protection and preservation of national and cultural heritage and historical and cultural environment. Stock is a powerful structure, which has its own material base for the implementation of joint projects with various organizations.
Help our customers, and that's about five thousand persons in Khmelnytsky and Ternopil regions, has a positive effect on the general social situation in the region and reduces social tensions in society. We promote the social rehabilitation of vulnerable groups, not just members of the Jewish community, but also members of their families, (and these are people of different nationalities), we improve the financial condition of recipients of charitable assistance, we promote the development of national culture and make it accessible to various social and age groups of the region.
Thanks to a wide range of services Khmelnytsky Charitable Foundation "Hesed Best" is able to provide assistance to customers in many areas, according to their urgent needs. At the expense of our official sponsors - the International Public Organization "Joint" and the commission "Claims Conference", we help people in need, often critical situations. Thanks to many years of experience, we undertake, at first sight, unfeasible cases, we try to solve the most difficult questions: whether it is patronage or psychological rehabilitation, household and housing problems or rehabilitation. Surrounded by the care and understanding of our customers, substituting his friendly strong shoulder in any situation, The staff of the Khmelnytsky Charitable Foundation "Hesed Besht" creates good and inspires others to do good by their own example.
The organization cooperates with local governments, government agencies, leading international and local charitable foundations, business circles, with people, having an active life position in helping others. And everywhere, in all cases, we see: there are no indifferent people. Good is not done by itself – it is done by people. We are fortunate to work with responsive and friendly people, who uselessly help others. And one of our main tasks is, to people, who strive to do good deeds, found those, who needs this help. It often happens, that kindness does not find a way to manifest, remaining at the level of desire or unattainable goal of a caring heart.
Thanks to that, that the Foundation has created its own information space and promptly informs about its work through modern means of communication (Internet, printed publications), we are approached by citizens of different countries and continents. They want to help preserve the historical memory of their ancestors, revival of national and religious life or provide assistance to low-income members of the Jewish community. Thanks to voluntary donations of individuals and legal entities, at the expense of sponsors, that are not official donors to the organization, we are expanding the circle of recipients of charitable assistance, extending it to people of different ages and social status: these are young families with children; young, who needs help in getting an education; people, who need psychological help and other categories of citizens. We make effective use of voluntary donations, reviving religious buildings and landscaping; we buy products and medicines for the elderly, clothes and shoes for children. And these good deeds of philanthropists, that with our help find their recipients, without a doubt, will not get lost in the boundless world, and will find a response in people's hearts, multiplied by their actions, will be passed on to other people.
As the head of the organization I can say with confidence, that the Khmelnytsky Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation was urgently needed by the people as at the time of its foundation, and during all years of work. Its importance in society and community life is not diminishing, and over time it only gets stronger and bigger. This is evidenced by the reviews, coming to us from all corners of Khmelnytsky and Ternopil regions. People call the Hesed Besht Foundation their home, and we, Foundation team, we do everything for that, that in this house it was warm and cozy to all its inhabitants. The active work of the organization allows us to effectively represent the interests of the Jewish community and positively address various issues of social, national, cultural and social life.
It is nice to note those positive changes in society, occurring in front of the residents of Khmelnytsky and Ternopil under the influence of the Foundation. Joint projects with local governments, numerous round tables on tolerance in society, sharing experiences at all levels - all this makes our common community, that builds a developed civil society, more active, civilized and highly moral.
Opening of the Holocaust Remembrance Museum at the Thia Center for Community and Cultural Affairs ("Renaissance"), free to visit, marked the beginning of our cooperation with educational institutions. Now the museum holds thematic lessons, meetings and conversations. We believe, that educating the younger generation in stories about the terrible events of the past will contribute to the formation of a new generation, which will never allow phenomena, similar to the Holocaust.
We sincerely hope so, that this publication will enable everyone, who is already connected or only acquainted with the Khmelnytsky Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation, better understand our work and evaluate our achievements. We also have hope, that people, who have not yet cooperated with us, will find a direction in the activities of the organization, in which it will be possible to enter into a partnership.
Helping everyone, we will not help everyone, but, helping everyone, we will help everyone. Feel free to do good and remember: we are always happy to meet you!
With sincere respect,
Director of the Khmelnytsky Charitable

Good day! Help find a Jewish family from among the inhabitants of. Khmelnytsky. My great-grandfather comes from the village of Bubnivka, Volochysk district, during the war he was appointed elder by the Germans and hid Jewish children at home. He was handed over to the Germans by a fellow villager, Jewish, that were in the attic, managed to escape, and the Germans took him and after that his fate is unknown. After the war, my mother (she was still a child) found a man, who was saved by my great-grandfather, she was visiting him in Proskurov. This man had a kiosk near the Children's World in the 1960s, in which he sold sweets. I would very much like to talk to this Jewish family.
