ORT-KesherNet Computer Technology Center is an example of successful implementation of a joint project of two non-governmental organizations - World ORT (educational resources and technological training) and the women's organization "Project Kesher" ("Communication"). Centre, who began his career in Khmelnytsky 2002 year, is one of seventeen, working with the support of the project in the CIS. To explain the uniqueness of the Center, it is necessary to tell about the organization, which are its sponsors.
The goal of the World ORT is to raise the living standards and well-being of the peoples of the world through education and training. Getting started 1880 year in St. Petersburg, as a private system of vocational education, Today, this organization pays considerable attention to preparing young people for professional activities in the new, information society. And that – over 200 thousands of students of different nationalities and religions, which are more than y 50 countries attend schools annually, colleges, institutes and training centers of the organization.
The Kesher Project was founded in 1989 and is one of the fastest growing international NGOs in the CIS, defending the interests of women and conducting human rights activities. The purpose of the project – to support and develop a network of women's groups, to promote the formation of international women's coalitions, to prepare women leaders for active participation in the life of the community and society, to assist women in the revival and development of their self-awareness, change women's behavioral stereotypes about their own health, help in interaction with the state, public and national structures.
The purpose of creating the Centers of computer technologies "ORT–KesherNet "is an aid to the social and professional adaptation of women. This project gives them the opportunity to learn to work with a computer or improve their skills, master new technologies and, in perspective, increase your rating in the labor market, find a higher paying job, build a professional career more successfully.
The Computer Technology Center operates not only in Khmelnytsky, but also opened computer classes on the basis of regional offices of the Hesed Besht Charitable Foundation in Ternopil, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Starokostiantyniv. The Center's educational programs are also available to residents of other regions. The modern equipment of the Center and the transport support of the Hesed Besht Foundation allow to conduct classes on the periphery.. Also with the help of the Center, the Foundation's clients and community members, living in the most remote corners of the region, take part in non-formal education projects online, study spiritual literature, listening to lectures, communicate.
Over the years, the Center has provided an opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge 3200 persons. These are women and men, adults and children, young people and the elderly. This figure indicates a great need for such a Center. Mastering the basics of computer literacy contributes to the further employment of people, preserving their jobs, obtaining additional earnings and improving the overall economic condition of society.
The presence of the Computer Technology Center and its Internet resources contribute to the establishment of new partnerships with NGOs and national communities., involving them in joint activities, preparation of events of the Community Center.
