27 October at secondary school no. 3 g. Shepetivka, Khmelnytsky region, "Women's Health" program of the VZHEO "Project Kesher" with the support of the CF “Women's health and family planning” in partnership with the Shepetivka representative office of the Hesed Besht Foundation, in agreement with the school administration, conducted trainings for students 8-11 classes aged 13-16 years in the framework of the UNESCO adolescent health program.
First training, conducted by Marina Konstantinova, Head of the Women's Health Program of the Kesher Project for students 10-11 classes, was focused on the age characteristics of high school adolescents, understanding the stages of physical and psychological development of a growing organism, on the formation of personal responsibility in matters of maintaining health in adolescence. "" Healthy photography studio " – form of promoting information on the principle of "equal to equal", and the competition "What do I know about the specialization of doctors" – these stages of training gained the most adolescents. Teens also learned, how to use gadgets and computers not only for games or social networking, but also to obtain useful information about health, about communication with peers, and other relevant topics on the Internet resource for teenagers teenslive.info.
Schoolgirl 11 class, 16 years old: “I liked a lot today, I will read all handouts, I'll go to the site, as I am interested in the topic of a healthy lifestyle, and I want to build the right relationship with friends. And I also thought about it today, that it was easy for me to identify my three best inner qualities, but I could not determine three external qualities. Means, I do not believe in myself, and it bothers me, you need to learn to appreciate yourself, and be confident in yourself. Psychological health is one of the forms of health of my whole body ".
Second training with students 8-9 class was more playful, with elements of contests and competitions. For better assimilation of the material, the emphasis was placed on a memorable video sequence - a presentation and videos about preserving health. All schoolchildren received handouts and reminders with the address of an Internet resource for teenagers.
Pupil 8 class, 14 years old: "It was interesting to me, I answered many questions, and got candy for every correct answer. I gave them to those, who didn't know the correct answers, and at the same time helped them to gain knowledge about health. We need to know a lot about our health, why you can't have bad habits, why not try smoking, to drink beer. And even today I understood, what when I'm sitting at the computer, I can't just play games, but I can go to the website for teenagers about health, and watch the video there, to ask questions".
Alena Feldman, Head of the Regional Representative Office of the Hesed Besht Foundation in the city of Shepetovka, Project Kesher activist: “Keeping health starts from a very young age, and I, like a young woman and a young mother, I understand that very well. Very important to me, so that teenagers in our city, at school, where my daughter will study soon, knew about, how to lead a healthy lifestyle, how to keep your health for a happy, active and fulfilling life. I thank the school administration for supporting our program, for solving all organizational issues. "Project Kesher" systematically works in this direction, and these events, carried out with the support of the BF “Women's health and family planning” within the framework of the UNESCO adolescent health program is a real step towards preserving the health of young people!»
